Short and Sweet

I am not a great swimmer. In fact, I am not even good at it.

I am so bad at swimming, that I actually hurt my back. That's right, the sport people use to rehab their injuries, I found a way to get hurt doing.
Sure it can't! LOL

Ok, so I know what I did wrong and I know what I have to do.  Thursday, I get back in the pool with the support of Bethany and MB, who are also training for the Rhode Warrior.

This unexpected back pain, did not help with running last week. In fact, I only ran once and I missed my last long run before the Ocean's Half this coming Sunday.

I have to admit that I feel a bit undertrained, but I know I can finish and finish I will. I am feeling so much better and I am sure I will continue to feel good.

I am really looking forward to the race.  I have quite a few friends running it and two friends volunteered to be on the course.  I love seeing friends out there. It really helps with motivation and just the all around fun of running in a race.

Weather as of right now is not too bad. Last I checked the temperature is going to be about 38 and sunny. The girls and I have been running in some very cold temps and we survived five miles yesterday when it was only 21. Thirty-eight will be like a heat wave!

Sorry for the lack of posts for February.  Things should pick up now that race season is upon us, plus, I bet I will have a lot to say when I officially start training for the Rhode Warrior.

I have something fun and exciting happening on Friday, but I will give you more details about that after it all goes down.

I will do a race recap late Sunday, so look for that on Monday.

Till then,

Run Strong, Think Big! ~ Nicole

  1. What I love about running and swimming (and biking, too) is that rest and rehab bring us back AND that slowing down helps AND that there is always a pot o' gold at the end! Great luck this weekend. I haven't raced all winter because every weekend we have grandkids' swim meets or 2 or 3, soccer games, basketball games and the times are from morning 'til night. I'm looking forward to some nice Spring runs to get my legs going!
